A bent and haggard old man makes his way through the alleyways of a city. He pulls his cloak tight around him, trying to ward off the icy weather. As he continues on through the labyrinth of roads, his only light comes from the burning wreckage around him and the campfires of the besiegers outside the walls. The man rounds a corner, coming to a door in one of the few still standing houses. He opens the door and walks inside, making sure to keep his hood tight over his face so as not to be seen. The man makes his way deeper into the house, brushing the icicles off of his snow white beard as he goes. He at last finds himself in front of a door on the second floor, which he opens, giving way to a small boy's room. He pauses at the foot of the child's bed and places a small pile of food items and a few toys. The family would not starve this time of year. He smiled as he looked at the peacefulness in the child's sleeping face. So innocent in the midst of such horrible destruction. Then, as quickly as he had come, he was gone. The next morning families all across Celitrem would wake up to find mysterious gifts in their homes or town centers. Though most were small, they inspired the wartorn people and brought hope for a bright future. Though cities burned and the Undead pillaged, everyone found time to be thankful and happy on this day."

This tale, originally found in the burned out rubble of an old monastery, is one of the oldest known recordings of the legendary figure known simply as " Father Wyrth. " Some say he is a god in human form, keeping watch over his favorite creations. Others say he is simply an old man with a heart of gold. Regardless of who he is, everyone finds joy in the simple act of giving on Cariad, the holiday that has formed around the kind acts of Father Wyrth.

Many traditions accompany this most joyous time of year. You will see the colors of green and red hung from every eave and window, taken from the town colors of the first city to have received the gifts of Father Wyrth. Many will put up large trees or other objects in a local square or even one's own home, providing an easy spot for Father Wyrth to place his gifts. As well, people will give gifts to each other and sing and dance to their hearts content, spreading joy wherever they can. It is a time to forget one's circumstances, no matter how dire, and share kindness with the world.

Credit for this piece of lore goes out to a dear friend of mine. The first person besides my own family that got me into Minecraft Roleplay. Centurion was/is an amazing writer and did an awesome job when he first brought this Father Wyrth character to life. No matter what goes on in the world we will always know that their is peace and happiness during this time of year. Let us remember that in our little fake world that we call Casus.

Stay tuned as this will continue to ramp up as December rolls around!
