Spoiler: Distinct Stars
Tears:
Under the Star of Tears,
the element of water is at the peak of its power, and the element of fire is at its weakest. Creatures with ties to water, or more generally elemental cold, are more powerful and appear in greater numbers, emboldened by the power imbuing the world. Fire-based creatures suffer the opposite effect, and attempt to hide and wait out the unfavorable cycle. Mages and others capable of harnessing the power of cold find their efforts to do so more effective.
Feasts:
Under the Star of Feasts
, hunger is a hard thing to come by. Crops find themselves growing more quickly and easily than they typically would, even under tough weather conditions. Additionally, common animals such as rabbits, deer, and wolves are more numerous, and less skittish.
Falling Skies:
During the Star of Falling Skies
, meteors rain down on the planet with moderate frequency. Typically these burn away before colliding with the world, offering an appealing light show, but occasionally some will crash into Lithria, causing damage. Folklore often tells tales of these fallen stones carrying creatures beyond comprehension, or materials of unimaginable rarity.
Gales:
Under the Star of Gales
, the element of air is at the peak of its power, and the element of earth is at its weakest. Creatures with ties to air, or more generally elemental lightning, are more powerful and appear in greater numbers, emboldened by the power imbuing the world. Earth-based creatures suffer the opposite effect, and attempt to hide and wait out the unfavorable cycle. Mages and others capable of harnessing the power of lightning find their efforts to do so more effective.
Discovery:
Under the Star of Discovery
, magical secrets are laid bare for all to see. During the cycle, all magical effects and objects glow with a faint light, allowing long-hidden secrets to be more easily discovered by the astute.
Calm:
Under the Star of Calm
, denizens of the realm find it easier to find moments of peace. Weather is more muted and ideal for its season, and the creatures of the world are more peaceful and friendly. Intelligent monsters and people aren’t swayed by this cosmic peacefulness, however.
Flames:
Under the Star of Flames
, the element of fire is at the peak of its power, and the element of cold is at its weakest. Creatures with ties to elemental fire are more powerful and appear in greater numbers, emboldened by the power imbuing the world. Water-based creatures suffer the opposite effect, and attempt to hide and wait out the unfavorable cycle. Mages and others capable of harnessing the power of fire find their efforts to do so more effective.
Slumber:
Under the Star of Slumber
, natural creatures enter an unusual season of hibernation, returning to their dens and sleeping through the cycle, only waking when disturbed. This makes the cycle more peaceful from common threats, but also makes food more difficult to come by, and forces less natural creatures to find food farther afield.
Despair:
Under the Star of Despair
, the forces of death are especially close to the world, attempting to draw the living in. Healing magic is muted and less effective, and coming back from the dead is impossible while the Star is at its Zenith. Additionally, Undead and other creatures tied to the energy of death are driven to aggression, behaving unusually in order to claim the living.
Stones:
Under the Star of Stones
, the element of earth is at the peak of its power, and the element of air is at its weakest. Creatures with ties to earth, or more generally elemental acid, are more powerful and appear in greater numbers, emboldened by the power imbuing the world. Air-based creatures suffer the opposite effect, and attempt to hide and wait out the unfavorable cycle. Mages and others capable of harnessing the power of acid find their efforts to do so more effective.
Hope:
Under the Star of Hope
, the forces of life are especially close to the world. Healing magic is especially effective, and holy energy is much better at dispatching the unnatural. Plants grow healthier and more vibrant, and animals are born more impressive specimens for their species.
Wrath:
Under the Star of Wrath
, the beasts and unintelligent monsters of the world are whipped into a frenzy. Creatures rampage with little regard for their own health, and are made stronger by the power of the Star. Intelligent beasts and monsters don’t succumb to this rage, but may find themselves more ornery and unfriendly to the unfamiliar.
Extremes:
Under the Star of Extremes
, the natural weather of the planet is turned up to dangerous levels. Storms are extremely common and severe, and natural disasters happen with more frequency than they would under ordinary circumstances.
